1944
Mr. W. T. Carlton ask citizens of Gilchrist County to meet their war bond quota of $25,200 in the 4th War Bond Drive. He reported that the $24,000 quota was met in the last War Bond Drive. Carlton said, “We must do so again, our boys ‘Over there’ are not failing us, and we at home must not fail them.
1969
Bell High School Bulldogs football players named All-Riverland Conference players were Wayne Akins, Ricky Halter and Wesley Pittman. Coach Al Powers was named the Conference Coach of the Year.
Trenton High School Tiger football players making the All-Riverland Conference players were Sandy Barron, William Sewell, Ray Summers and Mike Hurst.
Charles Townsend received his American Farmer Degree in Kansas City at the National FFA Convention. Also attending from Bell were FFA members D. J. Douglas, Wesley Pittman, Nelson Caraway, David Moore and Gary Sanders. Mr. Donald Hurst was the Chapter Advisor.
