1969

Easter Sunrise Service were planned for Easter Sunday at 6 a.m. on the Bell School grounds. In case of rain the Service was to be moved inside the school auditorium. Mt. Nebo Baptist Church choir was to sing “Christ the Lord has Risen Today,” and Rev. F. E. Day was to deliver the Easter message.

2005

The 53rd Annual Suwannee River Fair and Livestock Show and Sale broke the old sale record with $663,495.00 in sells. A total of 48 fat steers, 125 feeder steers and 218 swines were sold.

2018

Sergeant Noel Ramirez, 29 and Deputy Taylor Lindsey, 25, were senselessly shot at a Trenton restaurant while on duty on. The deputies were in the restaurant during their lunch break when a lone gunman entered the business and shot them. The gunman shot and killed himself in the parking lot shortly after killing both deputies. April 19, 2018 was one of the saddest days in the 100 year history of Gilchrist County.
