1939
Southern Bell Telephone Company installed the first local telephone service in Trenton. Some 68 citizens signed up for the new telephone service.
Gilchrist County School Board members were paid $25 a month and County Commissioners were paid $30 a month.
1947
Bell got its first telephone lines, and telephone service in 1947.
Trenton got its first paved street with the paving and curbed work being completed on Main Street.
Gilchrist County was ranked number 10 in all Florida agriculture counties.
Trenton FFA was named the number one FFA Chapter in the state of Florida.
1979
The Gilchrist County Garden Club ladies were busy planting Camellias at the Bell Community Center on Arbor Day. Some of the club members were Mildred Brialmont, Jean McCartin, Hazel Martin, Hilda Kressman, Vera Malone, Marlene Miller, Marion Collins and Inge Mauthner. The Camellias were planted to honor Mr. Jim Brialmont and Mr. Everett Highsmith for their faithful service to the club.
Danette Hyde a member of Blue Springs 4-H and a Bell High School senior received a $1000 scholarship from the North Florida Fair Association.
