Cemetery workings were planned for Jennings Lake Cemetery, New Hope Advent Church Cemetery, Wayfair Cemetery and River Cemetery (Known as Mt. Nebo) in October of that year.

The Editor of the Gilchrist County Journal requested that those residents who had subscriptions to the local newspaper stop by and pay their subscription of $1 for the year.

1996

GCRA held ground breaking for McArthur Park’s Field of Dreams. The Gilchrist County Recreational Authority past President Mike Casey and current President Darrell Smith were on hand for the event along with many children who were looking forward to playin at the new field.

In July the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Bell was robbed by an armed lone white male robber.

Down Home Days Festival was planned for November 9th in the Trenton City Park. According to Chamber of Commerce President Sam Ferguson those attending could expect to enjoy chicken and rice, collard greens and some good old fashioned gospel music by local groups.
