1938
Mr. W.E. Buchanan, Game Warden for Gilchrist County released 15,000 fingerling bass in the Suwannee River in June.
1943
Gilchrist County Sheriff D. H. Browning reported in January the following cases on record in his office; 9 cases of drunkenness, 4 cases of assault and battery, 1 violation fish law, and 1 case of insanity. Sheriff Browning warned all automobile owners to procure tags at once as all the automobile tags expired on February 1. Sheriff Browning warned all parties driving without tags from now on will be arrested.
1977
The Gilchrist County Cattlemen’s Association honored J. B. Osteen, of North Gilchrist County as the Outstanding Cattlemen of the Year. Ray Earl Thomas received an award from the Cattlemen’s Association for exhibiting Gilchrist County’s Best Homegrown Steer at the Suwannee River Fair and Livestock Show.
